Sai Baba Temple

Tripura Sundari is the name of the temple devoted to goddess Tripura Sundari or Turita Mata. There is a temple of Goddess Tripura Sundari known as Tartai Mata here, which has beautiful idol of black stone having 18 hands each carrying a symbol, while the Goddess is seen riding a tiger. The Goddess is seen riding a tiger. It is believed that it’s one of the Shakti Peethas of Hindus. It is believed that this temple was built before Samrat Kanishka ruled here. The exact date of its construction is not yet known and it is believed that this place is blessed with divine powers. People from all places in India come to visit this holy place. Shri Raj Mandir

Shri Raj Mandir, more fondly and popularly known as the City Palace was constructed in the 16th century and is perched on a hillock overlooking the town. It covers a huge area and it follows a typical style of Rajput architecture. Even though many royal palaces in Rajasthan are now being managed by the government due to lack of funds, the royal family to which this palace belonged originally are still the sole owners of this grand building. This palace still belongs to the royal family. Starting from the top of the hill, it gives a royal vibe.


Ram Kund

Like any other city in Rajasthan, Banswara, too, has its share of historical monuments, temple shrines and other wonderful touristy site. However, of all the places, Ram Kund is quite unique. People also call it as ‘Phati Khan,’ as it is present in a deep cave under a hill. It is eye candy for nature admirers as beautiful mountains are covering this kund from every side. The pool present there is always very cold, and it never dries up. The belief is that Lord Ram during his exile stayed here, which makes this place stand among the must-visit tourist places in Banswara for people. The sight of a nature-made water pond inside a cave is quite a surprising fact. Since the cave is located about 400 metres or so from the ground, visitors need to reach the hill via a doable trek and then enter the cave. Another legend associated with Phati Khaan is that Tatya Tope, the general of the rebellious troops of 1857, used this cave for secretly planning conspiracies against the British colonial government. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoon seasons because the hills are lush green and the whole atmosphere is blissful.

Paraheada

Paraheada is a well renowned Shiva temple that is situated 25 km from Banswara district headquarters. Paraheda, a famous Shiva temple, is located in Garhi Tehsil. The temple dates back to the 12th century and was constructed by King Mandalik. This temple has numerous inscriptions that reveal the existence of Pramar Emperors at this place.


Abdullah Pir Dargah

Abdullah Pir is a Dargah of Sayed Abdul Rasul Saheed and is one of the most famous places of pilgrimage in the state of Rajasthan. It holds religious and spiritual significance for the Bohra community. The Dargah is situated in the southern part of the city and thousands of Bohra Muslims from all over the country visit this shrine to pay their respects. On 10th Rabi’ al-awwal, every year “Urs” is held at the Dargah. The people of the Bohara community take part in it in large numbers. The festival takes place for 6 days and there are night-long musical programs featuring qawwalis. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the country travel to Banswara during this time.

Mahi Dam

Mahi Bajaj Sagar Dam is a dam across the Mahi River. It is situated 16 kilometres from Banswara town in Banswara district Rajasthan, India. The dam was constructed between 1972 and 1983 for the purposes of hydroelectric power generation and water supply. It is the longest dam and second largest dam in Rajasthan.


Baneshwar Dham

Baneshwar Island surrounded by the holy water of Mahi, Som and Jakham rivers in Banswara district is a center of natural beauty, as well as a view of diverse.Baneshwar fair in its present form is actually one of two fairs: one which used to be held in of Baneshwar Mahadev (Lord Shiva) and another fair, which started after the construction of the Vishnu Temple by Jankunwari, daughter-in-law of Mavji, a highly revered saint considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.Two disciples of Mavji named Aje and Vaje built the Lakshmi- Narain Temple near the confluence of rivers Som and Mahi. The 'pran-pratishtha' ceremony of the idols was performed on Magh Shukla Ekadashi and since then, the fair is held on this day. The large congregation that gathers here at the time of the fair pays homage to all the deities with equal reverence.
